Run from Team Rocket as Pikachu or Garchomp. Jump, slide, and avoid Pokémon hazards while your distance increases and you try to beat your best run.

How to Play Run Away

Pick an available runner to start immediately. Your score is the distance travelled in metres, and the world speeds up gradually until it reaches its cap. Hazards appear in changing weighted patterns. A hit brings Team Rocket closer; clearing hazards pushes them back. The run ends when their meter reaches 100%.

Desktop and Mobile Controls

  • Desktop: press Space or the Up Arrow to jump, and the Down Arrow to slide.
  • Mouse: click the canvas to jump with a ground runner.
  • Mobile: use the on-screen Jump and Slide buttons.
  • Flying controls are implemented for future flying runners, but no flying Pokémon is currently selectable.

Available Pokémon

Choose Pikachu or Garchomp. Both are ground runners with the same jump and slide controls. Charizard appears in the selector as coming soon and is not playable.

Scoring and Best Distance

Distance is the only score—there are no multipliers or streak bonuses. Your best distance is saved separately for each runner in local browser storage, so it remains after a refresh on the same browser but does not sync to other devices.

Runner Tips

  • Wait until a ground hazard approaches before jumping over it.
  • Slide under low flying hazards instead of trying to clear them late.
  • Watch the Team Rocket meter; several missed hazards can end a run.
  • Expect less reaction time as your distance and speed increase.
